Rick began taking piano lessons when he was 7 years old.  After years of begging, his parents finally gave in and he began taking drum lessons at age 11.  By the time he was 13 he was attending rehearsals with his older cousin's band Blue Mist.  In 1986, Rick met guitarist Bryan Berisford and they joined Rick's brother's band Beyondevon.  Beyondevon enjoyed five years of success and produced a demo CD, attracted label interest and won several WRQK "Rock Wars."  Beyondevon broke up for the usual reasons-jobs, marriages and kids. Rick never stopped playing, though.  He went on to anchor Third Element and Lashing Out.  Now he's happily behind the kit for Sonic Anthem.
